From the Europeana website:

Europeana is a single access point to millions of books, paintings, films, museum objects and archival records that have been digitised throughout Europe. It is an authoritative source of information coming from European cultural and scientific institutions.

It’s a bit like SCRAN but Europe-wide, and includes virtual exhibitions from museums around the world and a blog to identify useful materials.

The latest blog entries talk about World War I materials that have been collected in preparation for the centenary next year, including a bible torn though by a bullet and a postcard from Adolf Hitler!

Definitely worth a rummage 🙂
